La Secretaría de PESI ha tenido una presencia muy activa en la reunión de Resiliencia de Ciudades Inteligentes organizada por CERIS (DGHOME) en Bruselas este pasado jueves 11 de abril.

La jornada ha servido para presentar la visión y resultados de proyectos I+D+i en el topic INFRA (Infraestructuras críticas y urbanas) financiados en convocatorias anteriores de cara a la nueva convocatoria de Noviembre 2024.

La presencia de PESI ha permitido comentar la visión de Seguridad integral y Resiliencia definida desde PESI y establecer importantes contactos con diferentes Consorcios que pueden permitir la entrada de socios y entidades españolas en próximas propuestas, tanto a topics INFRA como DRS (Resiliencia a Desastres).

CERIS (comunidad de usuarios de investigación e innovación en Seguridad), coordinada por la DGHOME de la Comisión Europea, y en la que participa PESI desde sus comienzos, organiza el taller sobre Innovación en la Resiliencia de las CIudades inteligentes a través de la Investigación y las mejores prácticas, en Bruselas el 11 de abril.

We are pleased to invite you to the upcoming CERIS workshop "Innovating Smart Cities Resilience through Research and Best Practices".

This event, organised by DG HOME, aims to bring together practitioners, local authorities, policymakers, researchers, civil society and industry to discuss latest insights and lessons learned from EU-funded security research projects related to the improved resilience of Smart Cities. Furthermore, this event will look at the security research needs on the topic of infrastructure resilience, including management of data in smart cities, and tools needed for the successful upgrading of urban infrastructures. 

Context: The CERIS event "Innovating Smart Cities Resilience through Research and Best Practices" addresses the pressing need to strengthen the resilience of urban centres against complex challenges in an increasingly interconnected and technology-driven world. Today, cities face complex threats ranging from cyber-attacks to environmental degradation stemming from climate change. This event will look at how research contributes to bolstering security, technology, and urban planning in improving the resilience of Smart Cities. It will discuss how to integrate security by design principles into spatial development, while fostering collaborative efforts across sectors, for instance by empowering communities as active stakeholders in resilience-building endeavours. Furthermore, the event will be an occasion to facilitate networking and the exchange of knowledge between policymakers, practitioners, researchers & academia, industry, and civil society. By highlighting security gaps and needs, EU policy priorities, and future scenarios, the event continues the work of CERIS in fostering a collective vision for European resilience.
